Hummers Finals Analysis

Gentleman,
My virtual-unemployment and welfare abuse has allowed me to undertake a comprehensive survey of the ladder and this weeks matches.

We are currently sitting uncomfortably on the 8th rung, with 3 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw and boasting a percentage of 80.66. The statistics for our lowly dwelling neighbours is as follows.

Old Paradians sitting in 9th on 2 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw and a percentage of 45.27

Terry Penola sitting in 7th on 4 wins, 5 losses and a percentage of 76.76

Ivanhoe sitting 6th on 4 wins, 5 losses and a percentage of 87.81

North Old Boys sitting 5th on 4 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and a percentage of 104.06

Williamstown sitting 4th, 5 wins, 4 losses and a percentage of 164.00

Fitzory sitting 3rd on 5 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw and a percentage of 145.17

Basically Gentleman, these 7 sides will be fighting for the 2 spots left in the top 4 (Rungs, 1 and 2 going to Carey and Banyule)

HOW DO WE PLAY FINALS.
Gentleman, make no mistake, a win this week guarantees us 2 points out of the top 4. As it will leave Williamstown on 5 wins, Fitzroy play North Old boys and Ivanhoe play Therry Penola, so regardless there will be 3 sides on 5 wins and us sitting with 4 wins and a draw.

Next week we play UHS-VU again which should be a win, Carey the week after which might be tough, North Old boys at home which we can easily win, Ivanhoe who we have already beaten and Therry Penola at home where we should easily win. That leaves us on 8 wins. Which by my calculations and ladder predictor leaves us in 4th spot come finals time.

So gentleman, I reiterate, tomorrow is a must win. No one should be going into the game thinking our finals aspirations are no longer in existence, they are well and truly intact. If we play like we did last week and demonstrate some of the silky skills on display at training will be enjoying a cocktail with the knowledge that we are knocking on the door of the top 4.

Prepare well my pretty’s.
