Afternoon Gents,

I thought I’d put together some statistics to further reiterate Ferals premise that we can still play finals.
As it stands the ladder looks as follows.
Old Carey  12 wins 0 losses 0 draws 307.78%
Banyule     9 wins   3 losses  0 draws  165.51%
Williamstown 7 wins 5 losses 0 draws   160.64%
Fitzroy          6 wins  5 losses   1 draw      141.00%
NOBS          6 wins    5 losses   1 draw     96.86%
RCAFC        5 wins      6 losses  1 draw    87.34
Ivanhoe       6 wins      7 losses   0 draws     87.14
Looking at the current ladder, it appears we stand zero chance of playing finals however looking at the fixture ahead yields some surprising yet exciting news.
Before I begin, spot’s 1 and 2 are sealed by Carey and Banyule respectively, they cannot be changed.
Williamstown are a game clear in third and have Ivanhoe, Therry and Banyule in the 3 remaining rounds of the season. You would expect that they will win the first 2 and thus securing 3rd place.
That leaves the 4th and final spot in the finals to be contested by Fitzroy NOBS, RCAFC and Ivanhoe.
Fitzroy face Carey, Banyule and UHS-VU. While it’s impossible to predict results, You’d imagine they will lose to Carey and Banyule while they will beat the bottom placed UHS-VU. Should that occur, that will leave Fitzroy with the following result.

Fitzroy –  7 Wins  7 Losses 1 Draw. This will not be enough to make finals and thus Fitzroy have been eliminated. Thanks for playing Lions.
While not as tough, Ivanhoe face Williamstown, RCAFC and Old paradians in their remaining 3 games of the season. Assuming they lose to Williamstown and us yet beat Old Paradians they will finish with the following results.
Ivanhoe – 6 Wins, 9 Losses. this will not be enough to make finals and accordingly Ivanhoe have been eliminated. Thanks for playing Hoes.
That leaves two sides in contention for the illustrious 4th rung on this years ladder, RCAFC and NOBS.
Once again, assuming that NOBS loose to us this week, beat Old Paradians the following week and lose to Carey in the last round they will finish with the following result.

NOBS – 7 Wins, 7 Losses, 1 Draw. This will not be enough to make finals and accordingly have been eliminated. Thanks for playing douche bags.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that for us to play finals, we need to win our 3 remaining games, a task which to some may feel unachievable however as I’ll demonstrate, it should be far easier then it sounds.
Last time we played NOBS we stayed with them for 3 quarters and then fell off in the last. When we played them, we had no bench, no chemistry and we were playing away. This week we’re on our turf, we have had heaps of quality players introduced to the team since then and we will dominate.
We beat Ivanhoe last time once again with no bench. We’ll do it again no worries. Dub murdered their dominant full forward last time and will have no problems quashing him again. Pencil it in as a win.
Last round of the season, a win will guarantee finals, a loss will mean that night we are hitting the grog hard. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m already giddy at the thought of playing in a game that means so much. Of course we will step up and smack those half witted idiots from Pascoe Vale.
So gents there you have it, the equation for us to play finals. Get excited, because we’re going to Elsternwick Park on the first Friday night of August.
See you tomorrow night my pretties.

Player Profile: Warren Morely

At the Cardinals we pride ourselves on sticking together. We don’t have grand ambitions for spots in the 1st, whether we could actually get a game or not is irrelevant, we are a wolfpack, of 40 or so, wandering the desert, searching……………….. for glory!

Unfortunately, some people can’t handle the raw power of the cardinals spirit and they drop off, seeking the sanctuary of lesser clubs. But fear not! as those mere mortals fly the coop, the bright lights of the Cards draws to it a new breed of soldiers. Ready, eager for battle.

And so, in the inagural player profile post I would like to introduce you all to Waz. He did us proud on the weekend and provided a solid option up forward, worked hard against a strong backline and came away with a sneaky goal.

Photographers Needed

Last year we were blessed with the misfortunes of Al Cadman who busted his finger in round one and then decided to bring his fancy DSLR camera down to some games. As a result we have some amazing photos on the website from last year. (take a look here)

This year Al is off in Canberra workin for the man and its a bit much to ask him to come down to Melbourne for the weekend and take photos of our games. So I am calling on the Cardinals players or WAG’s or friends or whatever. Come down to the game this weekend and take some snaps. If you do we’ll buy you a beer or a saussie roll or whatever takes your fancy.

Things like this all help in building the Richmond Centrals brand. At the very least it will help guys like Dan bulk up his modeling profile so that he can finally land that Dimmeys 2011/12 Dressing Gown Campaign.

Lookin Good Dan!
